When we originally began looking for a shiba, we had decided that we wanted one with a red coat. Yoshi is technically a red-sesame shiba, which means that much of his fur has black tips. However, as you can see from the picture above, as he ages, his coat is becoming less black and more of a vibrant red. The breeder said that this might happen, but there were no guarantees. Looks like we may have gotten a red shiba after all.

Very nice Web site! You did a great job and have fabulous pictures. Yoshi is adorable and obviously a beloved member of the family. I have a male sesame, Hobbes, and a red female, Ruby, who is a terror. She’s little but a real hunter. Jumps all over the backyard. She catches lizards, trees possums and brought a freshly killed rat into the house. She loves to leap into ferns, bushes, etc. What a hoot to watch.
Anyway, again, please keep us posted on Yoshi’s progress.
