Finally, photographic evidence of the Teddy Possum minefield that the dogs leave for us on the steps. One day, I will slip on a Teddy Possum carcass, fall down the steps, and break my neck. Yoshi can hardly wait.

Tsuki awoke from a deep sleep to see if their trap had finally worked. You can tell she just woke up, because her tail is still uncurled. It’s her shiba equivalent of bed head.

Behold! The terrifying monster that Teddy Possum parents warn their children about.

If you read any book on Teddy Possum myth and legend (and there are a lot of them), you’re sure to find a mention of fox-like creatures with glowing eyes that disembowel and dismember innocent villagers.

The last thing many Teddy Possums see…

Excavation site of an ancient Teddy Possum burial ground. Some shibas say it’s hainted.

Our shiba mix has the same stuffed animal and she does the same thing. She also severs all limbs off all other stuffed animals one by one including eyes and ears and leaves stumps. What is up with shibas?

I cannot stop laughing… so much it hurts! I LOVE this!!! Did they actually place them all up the steps? I get one or two “bodies” in my footpaths every day, but that is unreal. I think they like the bodies better all mangled. Reminds them of how tough and stuff they are. Now the cats are doing it with a chipmunk. They make a point with it by placing it in various spots. If it’s in the food bowl it means you’re really on their poopie list! LOL! Trink & Phin’s mom

That’s really funny. Please be careful on those stairs, though. What a minefield!

This is too funny…I also could not stop laughing at the sad remains of several carcasses of once-beloved Teddy Possums.

Just dropped by to show your blog some love. I leave carcasses around for Madison but she most often steps on my smokey bones.

My mom was laughing her head off, and I came over to see what the fuss was about. Now, I’m insisting that she go right to the store and buy me at least two teddy possums!
